You may remember my post about being asked to drastically discount the compensation for my Real Estate services. I was in competition with others to get the listing. I responded with respect that “the race to the bottom” was not one I wanted to enter. You may also remember my second post and that despite the fact I was not the cheapest option, I had been chosen to take the listing. Your congratulatory comments were heart-warming. This is my third and final post to announce a happy ending. My clients were wonderful. They listened to my strategies and trusted me with this responsibility, no holds barred. We received a pre-emptive bid 2 days after listing. The price was GREAT but there was a condition I was not comfortable with and no CERTIFIED deposit. I didn’t consider this offer to be as “tight” as I would like in order to take the property off the market after only 2 days. There were steady showings and considerable interest in the listing. I thought I would get resistance to my suggestion that we pass on this offer and stay the course through to offer date. But my clients trusted and agreed. 3 days later, this offer came back to us, exactly as I had hoped. The agent did an amazing job in protecting her clients’ interests, AND, we received a second offer at the same time! I’m so happy to report that we sold in 5 days (before offer date), for 9% over our asking price, and we all lived happily ever after! MOST IMPORTANT to me was what my clients said:
